Today was one of those serendipitous days...
My mom and sister call them "Girlfriend on the Go" days...
At 1:30 this afternoon I drove the 20 minute drive to Jenna's house to give her her last year's birthday gift. This year's is almost here and with all the busy-ness of last year we had not gotten around to doing what I had planned.
I had promised to treat her to
So, we packed Trey in his car-seat
and drove around the corner to Lily's, a delightfully quaint European tea room,
simple and elegant
We decided to have the tropical iced tea and save the hot tea for another day when we will return for high tea served with finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts.
We both ordered the Sampler Plate.
Fruit cup, strawberry chicken salad, green salad, a large slice of quiche and bread and butter.
We had a nice visit as we leisurely ate, and Trey was such a good little guy.
After our luncheon we drove to a little antique mall where I had seen some old old wooden windows a few months ago. I knew that Jenna had wanted to purchase some to use to decorate a wall in her home, so I had told her that that would be the second half of her birthday gift.
She chose three in different sizes with lots of panes. I will have to take a picture of them when she gets them hung.
I haven't decided what I will give her this year, but I like the thought of spending time together as girlfriends and moms...It was such a special day...and I got to enjoy her gift as much as she did :)

My daughter and I went to tea and shopping just last month! Such fun and you're right the time spent together is the very best part!
(Your grandson is getting SO big!!)

Thanks for sharing your special day with us! Jenna, you look terrific, and I DO think that Trey looks like his daddy!

After time spent together like this, it's possible to look back at the end of the day and say, 'Life is perfect!'
Great pictures, Debi.
